Use this free coordinate converter to quickly transform between Latitude/Longitude (decimal degrees or DMS) and UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) coordinates. Simply enter your coordinates in the box below (in decimal degrees, DMS, or UTM format), and the tool will instantly display results in all three formats. You can also copy values easily or see the location on the interactive map.
How to Use
- Decimal Degrees: Enter as
31.5204, 74.3587 - DMS (Degrees, Minutes, Seconds): Enter as
31°25'17.5"N 72°34'40.2"E - UTM: Enter as
43N 446000 3472000(zone, easting, northing).
If you only know your UTM Easting/Northing without the zone, the tool will assume a default zone based on the region, but for accurate results always include the UTM zone number.
Interactive Coordinate Converter & Mapper
Enter decimal degrees, DMS, or UTM. For UTM, include the zone (e.g. 43N 446000 3472000).

How It Works
The tool converts coordinates using the WGS84 datum, the standard used in GPS and most mapping applications.
- Decimal Degrees ↔ DMS: Uses trigonometric conversion formulas.
- Latitude/Longitude ↔ UTM: Uses the Proj4 library, a reliable GIS conversion engine.
- Results are displayed in all three formats (Decimal, DMS, UTM) so you can cross-check easily.
- The interactive map lets you verify the location visually, and you can drag the marker to adjust coordinates.
Understanding UTM Zones
The UTM system divides the world into 60 zones, each 6° of longitude wide. Your zone is determined by your longitude:
- Example: Lahore, Pakistan (74°E) falls in UTM Zone 43N.
- Example: Toronto, Canada (79°W) falls in UTM Zone 17N.
You can quickly find your zone by checking a UTM zone map or letting the tool calculate it automatically from longitude.
